Thakurani Yatra is a popular folk festivals in
Ganjam District of
Orissa. It is basically the out come of most flourished
Shakti cult in Orissa.
Thakurani Yatra takes place bi-annually at Berhampur and Chhatrapur on turn wise, and once in 12 years at Kabisuryanagar. It is celebrated usually in the month of May. It is believed to the period of rejoicing and merry making for the entire locality.
