Tezpur University, a Central University, is located at Napaam, about 15 km east of Tezpur.
It conducts PG and diploma programs in various fields. Student-Teacher ratio in this university is one of the lowest in the country, which means closer attention to the student. The average class size is about 25 and hence the classroom environment is entirely cohesive for one-to-one discussion.
The university conducts admission tests for aspirants at the National level. Department of Business Administration takes the December MAT examination for selection of students to its MBA programme, while the Department of Molecular Biology and Bio-Technology selects students through the JNU conducted, and Department of Biotechnology, Government of India sponsored test for admission into MSc in Biotechnology course.
Scholarships and medical facilities are offered to the students. Hostels are available.
