Tapti is a narrow valley lying between two parallel ranges of the
Satpura in the southern region of
Khandwa District,
Madhya Pradesh. It extends to about 80 km from east-north to west-southwest of the district.
Tapti River, one of the major rivers in central India that flows into the Arabian Sea, meanders towards west along the Tapti Valley.
