Tapan is a town located to the south-east of Balotra in the Barmer District of Rajasthan. Indrana and Asotra are the nearest towns. The district headquarters, Barmer, lies to the west of this town. Siwana is another important town which is situated to the south-east of Tapan.
Jasol and Meva Nagar are the two historic places situated near Tapan. Nakoda Parasvanath, a festival held at Balotra, attracts a large number of people from far and near.
Balotra Junction Railway Station and Jodhpur Airport are the nearest railhead and airport respectively.
