Tajewala Barrage, built in 1973, is located at Tajewala in Yamunanagar District. At this barrage, the water of the Yamuna is caught and diverted for irrigation purposes in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. This is also the main reservoir to meet the drinking water requirements of New Delhi city.
