Swargadwar Beach

Swargadwar Beach is a virgin beach in Puri, the abode Lord Jagannath. People believe that this was the bathing place of Sri Chaitanyadev who merged into Brahma (Divine Soul) here in Nilachal. Hindu pilgrims bathe in the place named ‘Mahadadhi’ at the beach, a sacred site on the shores of the Bay of Bengal.

The beach and the Sea Beach Road are great shopping haunts for the tourists, with locally made decorative items and clothes as the main purchases.

Swargadwar is around 2 km from the Jagannath Temple and 35 km from the Sun Temple of Konark. Puri Railway Station is 5 km from the beach.
