Swan River




Swan River originates from Joh-Marwari Village near Daulatpur at Amb in Una District. It flows through Jaswan Valley towards south, before joining River Sutlej near Anandpur Sahib in Punjab. This river is the life belt of Jaswan Valley. Around 65 km of the total 85 km length of the Swan River lies in Himachal Pradesh. It has 73 tributaries. Swan River has earned the name of 'river of sorrow' in Una District, due to frequent floods. Jhalera, Santoshgrah and Una are located on the banks of this river.
