Bordering with Nayagarh District, Sunakhala is a small town in Khordha District. It is one of the two locales of the same name in the district, and is nearly 3 km from Bolagarh. About 30 km east is Khordha, the district headquarters. Other places in the neighborhood include Dalaisahi, Biruda and Ranapur.
Atri, famed for its hot sulphur spring, is the nearest attraction. Kaipadar- well known for a beautiful mosque of Bokhari Baba – is the closest holy spot.
