Sumur




Sumur, also spelt as Samur, is a major village along the scenic riverside of Nubra in Leh District. Samstemling Gompa, inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1962, is the prominent attraction. Other landmarks are Tegar Gompa and sulphur hot springs with therapeutic features. Apples and apricots are grown here in abundance.

Stakrey Guest House and Hotel Yarab Tso provide accommodation facilities. Sumur is about 60 km from Deskit and 120 km from Leh. Buses are available from Leh.
