The ruins of the summer palace of Jaintia Kings are found near the
Nartiang Shiva Temple at
Nartiang, 65 km away from
Shillong.
There are several platforms and apartments, which are believed to be the remains of living rooms, sacrificial rooms, entertainment halls, and council chambers. According to local tradition, the walls were decorated with paintings, and engravings of flora, fauna, and social events. The cannons, pointing towards different directions, which were used for the palace's defenses still exist here.
