Sufi shrine of Qamar Ali

Sufi shrine of Qamar Ali is located at Shivapur in Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra. Built of marble and covered with gold brocade and sweet-smelling garlands, the tomb was erected in honor of the great Sufi saint, Qamar Ali.

The prime attraction here is two large boulders, one slightly larger than the other. If eleven people place their right index fingers under the stone chanting the phrase ‘Qamar Ali Dervish’, the stone would rise up of the ground. It would instantly fall to the ground, if any one of the persons removes his finger from the stone.

Women are not allowed to enter the mausoleum.
