Subrahmanya Temple




Subrahmanya Temple is situated at Perunna, near Changanacherry, in Kottayam District. Built in 753, the temple is managed by the 'Urazhma' Devaswam Board.

Subrahmanya Temple was among the first temples to open its doors to all groups of people, concurring to the 'Temple Entry Proclamation' that introduced a new age in the social set up of the state. The temple also has an auditorium and a kalyana mandapam. The Chandanakudam festival, of an Old mosque nearby, is welcomed by the temple every year.

Thrikkannapuram Temple, Kavil Ambalam, Sree Bhagavathy Temple and Sree Maha Deva Temple are nearby. The Munsif Court of Changanacherry and the Old Muslim Mosque are added attractions.

The temple is easily accessible from Changanacherry Bus Station (1 km).
