Statue of Dupleix, a 3 m high structure, forms one of the attractions of
Pondicherry. This structure is a tribute to Francois Dupleix, who governed till 1754. It is built over granite columns at the Place du Republique.
The Statue of Dupleix overlooks children’s park, which is at the southern end of Goubert Avenue.
