State Archaeological Gallery is situated in Kolkata

. Established in 1962, the gallery showcases rare tools of the early, middle and the late stone ages from Susunia, now Bankura
, and other sites, proto-historic antiquities from Pandu Rajar Dhibi of Bardhaman
, terracottas, sculptures, stones and stucco from the Gupta, Maurya, Sunga, Kushana, Pala and Mediaeval times.
The Historical Art section, opened in 1963, showcases a large number of old terracottas, bronzes, wood-carvings, textiles and several manuscripts.
Guide services are provided for the visitors. Informative lectures are organized occasionally.
State Archaeological Gallery is open from 12:00 to 16:00 hrs on all days except Sunday and public holidays.
