St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church




St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church was founded in 1889. Situated at Pakkil, about 8 km south of Kottayam, this church is one of the major pilgrimage centers of the Kottayam diocese. Renovated in 1981, the church was consecrated by Mor Baselios Paulose II, the late lamented Catholicose of the East Aboon. Today, this church has five altars (Madboho's) and can accommodate about 2,000 devotees.

The famous Mar Aphrem Seminary at Chingavanam is located nearby. The nearest railway station is Kottayam Railway Station.
