St Philomena's Church




St Philomena's Church, built in 1933, is situated in the city of Mysore, Karnataka. It was formerly known as St Joseph's Church. It is one of the largest churches in the country and is built in the gothic style.

A large statue of St Philomena (a 3rd century saint from Greece), in sleeping posture, is exhibited here. It is housed in the underground chamber.

The church is having two tapering spires rising to a height of 165 ft. The interior is decorated with amazing stained-glass of medieval style.
