Established in 1860 by Fr Raphael of Livorno, St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in
Uttar Pradesh, situated in the civil lines of
Gorakhpur. It was erected under the initiation of the Catholic troops inhabited here during 1850's. Blessed and opened by Bishop Hartmann, this Catholic Church is dedicated to St Joseph.
