St George Dayara is an important pilgrim center situated at
Thiruvalla in
Pathanamthitta District. Thiruvalla is 20 km south of
Kottayam.
The Dayara was constructed in 1944 by Metropolitan of Thumpamon diocese Puthencavu Geevarghese Mar Philexinos. It is situated on the land donated by Thottapurath T K Alexander. At present, Thomas Mar Athanasios, the head of the Chengannur diocese, holds the main charge.
