Srjan, the prime Odissi dance institute of India, is a non-profit charitable trust founded by Padma Bibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra at
Bhubaneswar. The institute is a result of the sleepless nights of the Guru to reach out to the masses of his extra-ordinary vision. The mission of the institute is individual perception and the propagation of the art form.
Today the institute has regular classes, workshops and specialized classes for the students from across India and abroad. Srjan provides scholarships to the needy students and presents the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra annual award to a distinguished person in performing arts.
The other activities of the institute include live recordings of the teaching sessions and a video archive with unique compositions of the Guruji. It also maintains a high level repertoire group of artists who are paid by the institution. This Odissi dance institute holds a well equipped library and an office with all modern amenities.
