Sri Swayambhu Temple




Sri Swayambhu Temple is a historic shrine, located adjacent to the ruins of Kakatiya capital at Warangal Fort. Built in Chalukyan style, the shrine is believed to have been erected in 1162 AD. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity here. Prataparudra, one of the prominent Kakatiya ruler, worshipped here every day during his lifetime. The shrine, however in ruins, is thronged by devotees all throughout the year.
