Established in 1908, Sri Ramakrishna Math at
Nattarampalli in
Vellore District is one of the very old centers of the Ramakrishna order. (Math is also spelt mutt.) It conducts regular religious activities such as daily worship, prayers and weekly religious classes. Special prayers are conducted on Fridays. The birthdays of
Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and
Swami Vivekananda are celebrated.
Sri Ramakrishna Math has a charitable dispensary, mobile dispensary and a homeopathic dispensary. Free education is offered to the poor children of the area in its English medium primary school and free boarding and lodging is available for boys in its orphanage. Also, it provides vocational training to rural women to make them self-reliant. There is also a small library in the mutt.
