Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, the oldest sabha in South India, is located at Triplicane in
Chennai. It was started in 1896 by Mani Tirumalachariar with the objective to promote Indian culture.
The sabha has hosted some of the renowned musicians. Musical programs and dramas are organized in various locations within the Triplicane area. An open-air theatre was opened in 1962. Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha conducts two festivals annually, one in February and other in December.
