Sri Mahavir Temple




Sri Mahavir temple is situated at Sirulee village, in Puri District of Orissa. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The 20 foot high idol of the deity faces West.

Sri Mahavir Temple was built by the local king Maharaj Cholaganga Dev, during the 6th century. The whole temple was constructed using granite. There is a huge well inside the temple premises for drinking and ritual purposes. The temple complex covers almost five acres. The festival of sankranti is celebrated in this temple every month.
