Sri Madhava Perumal Peyazhwar Temple




Sri Madhava Perumal Peyazhwar Temple, is located at Mylapore in Chennai city. The presiding deity of this holy place is Madhava Perumal, in a sitting posture, along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi. The deity is also known by the name Kalyana Madhavan as he married Goddess Amritavalli, Sage Bhrigu's daughter. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Amritavalli to the right of the Garbh Griha. There is a separate shrine for Andal. This east facing temple is adorned with a five-tiered Rajagopuram at the entrance.

The main festivals celebrated are the Chithirai festival (Tiruvona Brahmotsavam) and Peyazhwar Avatara Utsavam. Mylapore is well-connected by road and rail. Chennai International Airport is the nearest airport.
