Sri Karbharakshambikai Temple is situated on the banks of river Vettar in Thirukkarugavur,
Thanjavur District. The deity is known as Mullaivananathar and there is a swayambu lingam in the temple. The
Shivling, made up of anthill mud, is worshipped by pasting a kind of musk on it. Prodhoshams are very special in this temple. The temple can be accessed from Thanjavur or
Kumbakonam.
