Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple

Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Ammavari Temple is one of the prominent shrines in Visakhapatnam. Kanaka Mahalakshmi Ammavaru is the presiding deity here.

It is believed that the idol of the deity was taken out from a well nearby. Uniqueness is that the pujas are performed to the goddess by the devotees directly without any priest. The temple is thronged by a large number of devotees every day, particularly on Thursdays. A major draw is Margasira Masa Festival celebrated here annually.

Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple is only two kilometers away from Visakhapatnam Junction Railway Station.
