Established by Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College is located at Tamaka, about 5 km from Kolar, on the National Highway 4. It offers unique professional, cultural and recreational opportunities in friendly environment. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is approved by the Government of Karnataka.
The college conducts MBBS, post graduate diploma courses, and post graduate degree (MD/MS) courses in the fields of general medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology venereology and leprosy, anesthesia and radio diagnosis. The nursing college offers diploma and degree courses in nursing.
R L Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre is located within the college campus. It has an out patient department (OPD) complex, Operation Theatre complex and Ward Complex. It runs emergency casualty services, intensive care unit (ICU), coronary care unit (CCU) and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). The hospital has facilities for endoscopic, ECHO cardiography tread mill test, ultrasound color doppler studies, IITV X-Ray, C T scanning and cobalt therapy.
