Sri Ayyappa Temple at R A Puram




Sri Ayyappa Temple is situated at Raja Annamalai Puram (R A Puram) in Chennai. The temple was built in 1981 at the site donated by Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar. The idol of the temple is made of panchaloha (blend of five metals). The temple resembles that of Sabarimala and is open throughout the year. The sub-shrines of the temple are devoted to Sri Maha Ganapathi, Sri Nagaraja, Sri Maligaipurathu Amman (Manja Matha), and other Parivara Devatas. The main festival of the temple is the Mandala Puja (puja of 41 days in the months of November-December). Music performances and religious discourses are held here during the festival.
