Sreekandeswara Temple




Sreekandeswara Temple is located at Thalassery in Kannur District. The temple was built in 1910 and the deity was installed by Shri Narayana Guru, the great social reformer of Kerala. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva.

The temple is managed by the Sreekandeswara Khetra Samithi. The place where the temple is situated was formerly known as 'Nalleswara Madam.' It is said that the Kallingal Mutt gave their property to Narayana Guru for the construction of this temple.

The temple can be approached from Thalassery, which is 62 km north of Kozhikode. Thalassery Railway Station on Mangalapuram-Chennai rail line is the nearest railhead.
