Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple




Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple is one among the three most important Maha Subramanya temples in South India. Sree Payyanur Perumal, one of the forms of Lord Subramanya is the main deity worshipped here. The temple also has sub deities of Lord Parashuram, Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa, Sree Bhoothathar and Sree Kanya Bhagavathy, the virgin goddess Parvati. The temple is unique with its special rituals, pujas and its architectural excellence.

The temple is also known as the Palani of Kerala. Aradhana Mahothsavam and Thriputhari are the main festivals celebrated here.

Mangalore and Kozhikode airports are nearby. The nearest railhead is at Payyanur.
