Sree Mahadeva Temple



Sree Mahadev Temple is located at Kalarkadu, about 4 km from Alappuzha city. The temple known for its festival, which lasts for eight days, attracts thousands of people. Celebrated on Mahashivratri with ceremonial flag hoisting, the festival provides opportunities for many eminent artists and performers to exhibit their caliber. Traditional art forms like Ottan Thullal and Kathakali are performed. During the day the main idol of the temple is taken around on a chariot known as Rishabha Vahanam. The Thiruvathira Festival is also celebrated with art forms.
