Sree Lakshmi Narasimha Temple




Sree Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is an ancient temple situated at Thalassery, in Kannur District of Kerala. The temple, established in 1831 AD, enshrines Lakshmi Narasimha as the presiding deity. The deity is seen flanked by Sri Pattabhi Narasimha and Veera Vittala on either sides.

The unique feature of the temple is that the temple and deity are faces north, the direction of Lord Kubera. The temple complex consists of shrines dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesh, Goddess Lakshmi and Sree Vittoba Rukmini. The idol of Lord Venkataramana is used as the Utsava Murti. There is also a sacred temple tank behind the temple complex.

Narasimha Jayanthi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Ramnavami, Janmashtami, Hanuman Jayanthi and Vaisakha Poornima are the popular festivals celebrated by the temple.

Sree Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is situated just half a kilometer from Thalassery Railway Station.
