Sovi Jataras




Sovi Jataras is a fair, which falls on the month of Baisakh. It is held at the temple of Naina Devi and last for five days. A large number of devotees especially Gaddis, who return to their home, participates in this fair. A specialty is Dangi dance.

On this occasion, the women sing songs related to the life and sacrifices of Goddess Naina Devi. They also perform ritual puja with beautifully arranged platters on the spot, where the goddess had sacrificed her life.
