South Extension

South Extension, situated south-west of Defence Colony, is the most posh market place in New Delhi. This up market area in South Delhi is situated on the Ring Road, to the south-east of Sarojini Nagar and around 8 km south of Connaught Place.

South Extension provides an international shopping experience (for mostly higher end customers). It has some of the top department stores offering fixed prices; Old Street is a fashion boutique showcasing major brands under one roof while ‘Rhythm Corner’ caters to music buffs. ‘Ebony’ is one of the biggest retail stores in South Extension. Apart from this, there are scores of restaurants, jewel shops, book shops and stationery and furnishing houses. Ansal Plaza, one of the biggest malls in South Delhi, and the historical sites of Bare Khan-ka-Gumbad and Kale Khan-Ka-Gumbad are other places of interest in the neighborhood.

As with most of the shops in the city, the South Extension remains closed on Mondays.
