Someshwara Temple




Someshwara Temple is an 11th century shrine at Hathima in Barmer District. It is about 40 km from Barmer.

The temple is built in the Solank architectural style and has a pancha-ratha sanctum, vestibule, assembly hall and a porch. The sanctum includes moldings of elephant band, horse band and human band. The projections on the walls are decorated with figures, which rests on a sculptured frieze. The sanctum is mounted by shikhara of clustered type and the hall has an octagonal arrangement of pillars which are carefully and beautifully ornamented.
