Smit is located in
East Khasi Hills of
Meghalaya. It is about 4 km from
Laitkor and 3 km from Thangsning. It lies at an altitude of 5,249 ft above sea level and is better known as the capital of the Khyrim Syiemship. It is a trekking destination for those who are on the trail to Singsong gorge.
