Skio is located in
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir and lies at an altitude of 11,945 ft. It is about 50 km south-west of
Leh and is surrounded by steep and barren hills.
Zanskar River has its course through Skio. A trek route from Yurutse to Markha passes through Skio.
