Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary

Located about 65 km south-east of Udaipur, the Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary spreads over the Aravalli and Vindhyachal mountain ranges. This 423 sq km forest is the only region where teak trees of building value are found in Rajasthan.

The sanctuary is renowned for the flying squirrel. Other common species found here are the leopard, hyena, jackal, fox jungle cat, porcupine, spotted deer, wild bear, four horned antelope and nilgai.

The best time to see the flying squirrel is between February and March.

Udaipur City Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
