Sissu Fair




Sissu is a common fair celebrated all over the Himalayas by the Buddhists. The main attraction of this fair is a masked dance. As a part of monastic rituals, this masked dance is always performed inside the monastery on the courtyard attached to it. It is celebrated at different dates at different places. At Sissur Gompa, it is held in June, at Ghemur Gompa in July and at Mani Gompa of Gondhla in August.
