Sinhoniya




Sinhoniya is an ancient city established by the ancestors of King Surajsen, the founder of Gwalior city, 2,000 years ago. It is said that there had been 11 Jain temples at Sinhoniya established by Jaiswal Jains in the 4th and 5th centuries. The temple dedicated to Bhagvan Shantinath is famous. Ancient idols found in Sinhoniya are displayed in a museum in the temple.

Nearest railway station is at Morena on Gwalior-Agra line, 30 km from Sinhoniya. Local vehicles are available from Morena to Sinhoniya.
