Singrauli Thermal Power Plant




Singrauli Thermal Power Plant is a 2000 MW coal based thermal power plant located at Shaktinagar in Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh.

The plant started commercial power production in 1982 and has has five 200 MW units and two 500 MW units. The coal for the power generation is taken from Jayant/Bina Coal Mines and water from Rihand Reservoir. The power generated from this plant is consumed by Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
