Sidheeswarar-Sidha Nathar Temple

Situated at Naraiyur, 9 km south-east of Kumbakonam, is the Sidheeswarar-Sidha Nathar Temple. There are separate worship places for Goddess Azhagambikai and Aanda Pillayar (Vinayakar).

Built at an elevation, this temple spans an area of one acre within which a five tiered rajagopuram is situated. The temple has two teerthams - Soola Teertham and Bhrama Teertham. The speciality of the temple lies in its architecture. The rays of the sun falls on the sanctum for 3 days in the months of Aquarius and Leo. The temple was renovated by Uttama Chola. The bronze image of Nataraja from the period of Sembiyan Mahadevi is worth seeing. The main festival is the annual Bhrammotsavam celebrated in the month of Pankuni (mid March - mid April). Arudra Darisanam, Karthikai deepam, Navaratri, Skanda Sashti and Vinayaka Chaturthi are also celebrated in a grand manner.
