Shri Ramakrishna Ashram is in Madanpur-Rampur block in
Kalahandi District in
Orissa. The
ashram preaches the ideas of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Saradamoni Debi (consort of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa) and Swami Vivekananda. The ashram teaches how to attain salvation and works for the welfare of the masses.
The ashram has two units. The main ashram comprises a temple, tribal student’s hostel, old age home, mobile dispensary, library and quarters for workers and sadhus. There is a vegetable garden with varieties of flowers and plants in the ashram premises. This place is ideal for meditation and contemplation.
The second unit is 3 km from the main ashram. Here a residential innovative education center and an agriculture training center function.
The ashram is open for all without consideration of caste, creed, religion or nationality. Train services are available up to Naria Road /
Kesinga. From here the ashram is 30 and 40 km away. The ashram is 365 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa. It can be reached from Baramunda Bus Stand.
