Shri Prasana Mahaganapati Temple




Located on the banks of Nila River, Shri Prasana Mahaganapati Temple is one of the important temples at Chathapuram in Palakkad District.

The presiding deity of this ancient temple is Lord Ganesh. The specialty of the temple is that the daily pujas are conducted in the Vaishnava form by Vaishnavite Alwars. Folklore has it that the deity was facing east till AD 1875. It was re-installed towards south as advised by a Sanyasi.
