Shri Krishna Swamy Temple

Shri Krishna Swamy Temple is situated, on the banks of the Nila River, at Chokkanathapuram village in Palakkad District. The presiding deity is Lord Krishna.

Folklore has it that the temple was constructed in order to restrict the intense anger of Lord Shiva, whose shrine is on the opposite side. It is believed that Lord Krishna has the power to withhold the anger of Shiva.

Shri Meenakshi-Sundaraswarar Temple and Mahaganapathy Temple are shrines nearby.
