Shri Kartikeya Swami Temple




Shri Kartikeya Swami Temple is a famous temple located at Sector 31-D of Air Force Temple Complex in Chandigarh. This temple was built by the Tamil community of Chandigarh, in the architectural style of Dravidian temples. The gopura of the temple features a mixture of Chola and Pallava style of architecture. The chief deity of the temple is Lord Muruga, who is flanked by Goddess Valli and Devasena. There are idols of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Krishna Mariamman. Besides, smaller idols of other deities such as Durga, Brahma and Chandigeshwar are also enshrined. The temple complex houses a mandapa which is ideal for holding various cultural events. There are numerous temples nearby like the Ayyappa Temple, Balaji Temple, Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple. The Inter-State Bus Terminus is 6 km from here. Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport (15 km).
