Shri Ganapati Mahamai Mahishasura Mardhini Temple




Shri Ganapati Mahamai Mahishasura Mardhini Temple is situated in the village of Gudballi - Dhareswar of Kumta, which is on the Kanyakumari - Mumbai National Highway 17. Lots of devotees visit this temple on the 9th day of Dussehra. On this auspicious day, the devotees will take out fried vadas from the boiling oil with their bare hands, which will later be served as prasad. The temple also conducts special pujas in the month of Kartika (October - November). The temple is about 2 km from the highway and stop is at Dhareswar which is between Honnavar and Kumta. The nearest railhead is at Honnavar.
