Shivala Ghat

Shivala Ghat is an important place for taking a dip in the holy Ganges River. Located on the western parts of Varanasi, it was of great importance during the medieval times. A magnificent mansion built during the 19th century by King Sanjay Vikram Shah of Nepal still stands here. Other significant landmarks include a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and a spiritual center called Brahmendra Math setup by a revered person named Kashiraj. Today, Shivala Ghat is frequented by the local people and a few pilgrims, who come here to take bath in the holy waters.
