Shingo is located in
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It lies at an altitude of 5,000 m and is about 40 km south-west of
Leh.
A trek route from Rumbak to Markha passes through Shingo. Kurgiakh-chu, one of the tributaries of the Zanskar River, originates near Shingo.
