Shin Tribe




Shins are Buddhist believers, who reside in the hills and valleys of Jammu and Kashmir. They also follow the basic Islamic customs and traditions, and a few are ethnic religionists.

Shins speak Shina (Gurezi) language, a member of the Indo-Aryan language family. They are known for their ancient culture and tradition. Most of them engage in agriculture. Some members also rear animals for their livelihood.
